Purpose of position:
Reports directly to the President/General Manager of CBS 2. Oversees the administration and operation of executive office; Assist the director of Research & Programming with daily research and communication activities; and, as needed, assists the Director of Public Affairs & Communications with public relations activities.

Primary Accountabilities:
Act as liaison between CBS 2 staff, CBS corporate staff and general public for the general manager. Coordinates station meetings and station events - including scheduling and station conference rooms and meeting facilities; Oversees FCC filings for the General Manager and maintains the Public File. Compiles lists and responds to viewer calls and mail; Schedules GM meetings and business travel. Manages expense reports, purchase orders, time sheets and other corporate communications; Maintains accurate records, files and calendars; Orders products, equipment and services required for the executive office; and, screens phone calls and respond to inquiries when possible.

Act as primary receiver of station's mail and package deliveries.

Assist the Director of Research & Programming with the daily preparation and publication reports such as audience ratings and program change information. Collaborate in the development of research-based sales support materials.

Assist the Director of Public Affairs & Communications with the station's public relations activities. Maintains schedule for talent appearances and pro-social engagements. Screens Public Service Announcements and maintains the PSA inventory and schedule. Supports the station's community initiatives as assigned.

Assist other department managers with communications and reporting needs.

  • Strong analytical, writing and communication skills required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and leadership a plus.

Minimum education and experience requirements:

  • Previous media research experience at a TV station, cable network, agency or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with Nielsen Ratings and related software (WRAP, Prime Lingo, One Domain, etc) a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • College degree required.
