June is the month for graduations. But 45 Oakland residents received their diplomas in mid- March. They are the proud first graduates of the Oakland Baby Learning Communities, modeled after the Harlem Children’s Zone Baby College. The program offers parent education and development services for families in low-income areas that are exposed to violence.
